Gatot Kaca Knight Statue Denpasar Airport

In historical time, sculptors to express their creativity, instead they worked for courts and communities as specialist craftsmen or carvers of stone and wood to produce works that depict religious myths and beliefs. Religious use and function dictated what these craftsmen produced in terms of the shape, design and material use in the work.
One of the masterpieces arts is the statue Gatot Kaca nearby Denpasar airport. This luxurious Gatotkaca statue was built in 1993 located in the middle of T- junction in the northeast of Ngurah Rai International Airport, Tuban. Inspired by the Mahabharata epic, it depicts the story of the gallant and brave knight Gatotkaca, the son of Bimasena, one of the great warriors of the Pandawas. He is known as a skilled warrior to fly and responsible for air defense and providing protection for the safety of the kingdom of the Pandavas. Establishment of the statue is in the context of continued efforts to beautify the area around the Ngurah Rai Airport. The statue itself is also believed to provide spiritual protection and security for tourists coming to and departing from Bali
